Continuing Education Hours
30 hours biannually. Two of these
hours must cover Minnesota law and regulations.
Continuing Education Compliance Date Same as license
renewal date.
License Renewal Date The license
renewal date is 10/31, biannually.
Type of courses accepted
for CE Credit Online self-study courses or classroom. No more
than one-half of the credit hours per licensing period required under this
section may be credited to a person for attending any combination of courses
either (1) sponsored by, offered by, or affiliated with an insurance company
or its agents; or (2) offered using new delivery technology, including
computer, interactive technology, and the Internet.
Course
Subject Requirements There are no license-related course
subject requirements.
Carryover Requirements
Carryover of excess CE hours is not allowed.
Course
Repetition Credit will not be given for courses repeated in the
same renewal period.
Final Exam Final exam is not
required to be monitored.
Exemptions Any person
whose initial licensing period extends more than six months but less than 24
months shall complete 15 hours of courses accredited by the commissioner
during the initial license period.
Individuals who hold a full-lines
license but use it to sell only credit life, credit accident and health
and/or credit property. (Must request exemption form from the insurance
department.)
